Video preview: Wolves v NUFC, Sunderland v Man City

THE football season is underway with a bang for one half of the North East's big town at least.

Newcastle United's first home game back in the Premier League ended in a stunning 6-0 win over Aston Villa, while Sunderland were beaten 1-0 at West Brom.

Both enjoyed midweek wins in the Carling Cup, with Steve Bruce's side easing past Colchester 2-0, and Chris Hughton's young side winning 3-2 at Accrington Stanley.

This weekend the Magpies travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, while the Black Cats host big spenders Manchester City on Sunday.

In our latest Head To Head video preview, the Gazette's NUFC writer Miles Starforth and his SAFC counterpart Gary Foster discussing their teams' prospects.

And, with the transfer deadline looming, they discuss the latest comings and goings, with most of the talk centred around the black and whites' pursuit of Marseille's Hatem Arfa and their interest in Tottenham's Robbie Keane.
