Pancrate can wing it for Newcastle

NEWCASTLE United's front men will thrive on the service new boy Fabrice Pancrate can supply into the box, insists Chris Hughton.

Pancrate is likely to be named on the bench for tomorrow's home game against Swansea City.

And Hughton is confident the right winger, an unused substitute for Monday night's win at Deepdale, can show Newcastle fans just why he was so keen to sign him should he make it on to the pitch.

"He's excited about being a Newcastle player, and can't wait to see what the match day experience a St James's is like," Hughton told the Gazette.

"He adds a bit more depth to our squad, and can give us that different option.

"He likes to run at players and get crosses and supply ball in, and if he's looking at hitting the bylines, then that'll be great for us."

United remain unbeaten at home, and Hughton – whose side top the Championship by two points – will extend their four-game winning streak against Paulo Sousa's side.

Hughton said: "We've got a team of lads who want to be top of the league – they're winners."
