BATTLING Jarrow Roofing pushed high-flying Dunston UTS all the way before losing 1-0 last night.

It was heartache for Richie McLoughlin’s side, who looked set for a vital point.in their fight against relegation, only to concede in injury time to Steven Shaw.

The result leaves Roofing still in the bottom three of the Northern League Division One table with games running out, while Dunston moved into third to keep their title bid on track.

Tonight, Hebburn Town host North Shields in a vital Division Two encounter (7.30pm).

South Shields Swoop For Trio

Both sides are chasing promotion, with Hebburn sixth and Shields fifth.

A vital player could be Alex Benjamin, who scored four on his debut for Hebburn after they pipped Shields to his signing.
