Hebburn face six-pointer at Birtley
HEBBURN Town are fighting for their Northern League lives, as they showed in last weekend's 2-1 win over fellow strugglers Darlington RA.
The victory moved third-bottom Town seven points clear of their rivals, with Birtley – who they play tomorrow – a further six points adrift at the foot of Division Two.
Manager Rob Marsden was delighted with the three points – and the nature of the performance – but has warned his side they need more of the same against another side battling for their lives.
He admitted: "It was a very good win. We showed a lot of character to come back from a goal down again.
"We needed the win because we didn't get any favours from the other sides at the bottom of the table, who all picked up points.
"It was a great win and we need another against Birtley. It's another six-pointer."
Marsden welcomes back defender Paul Greenwell to his squad after injury, but is still without suspended duo Marc Brocklehurst and Daniel Gray.
Striker Michael Armstrong should be fit after suffering a facial injury against RA.
