NEWCASTLE, Sunderland, Arsenal, Watford, Bolton, Tottenham, Man City, Wigan, QPR, Blackburn, Liverpool, Fulham, West Brom, Wolves, Birmingham, Ipswich, Man United and West Ham are among the club’s making the transfer deadline-day headlines.

Arsenal are believed to be ready to make a bid for 25-year-old Watford defender Adrian Mariappa, who Newcastle had a bid turned down for last week. (The Sun)

The Gunners are also closing in on the £400,000 signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Thomas Eisfeld after holding talks in London. The 19-year-old could complete a move to London in the next 24 hours.

Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill is refusing to give up on his chase for Bolton skipper Kevin Davies. The Black Cats boss is poised to make a seven-figure offer for the 34-year-old striker despite being told he was not for sale last week. (Bolton News)

But striker Roman Pavlyuchenko’s future at Tottenham is in doubt after a training ground bust-up with assistant manager Kevin Bond over the 30-year-old Russian’s lack of first-team opportunities. (The Sun)

Another player possibly leaving White Hart Lane is defender Vedran Corluka, with Bayer Leverkusen reportedly in talks with Tottenham to sign the 25-year-old. (Sky Sports)

If Pavlyuchenko and Corluka leave, it could pave the way for Spurs to sign Germany midfielder Mario Marin from Werder Bremen for a fee in excess of £10m. (Daily Telegraph)

It could be a busy day all round at Tottenham, with boss Harry Redknapp planning a late double swoop for Blackburn defender Christopher Samba and winger Junior Hoilett. (Daily Express)

Liverpool striker Andy Carroll, 23, has rubbished reports linking him with a move out of Anfield. Manchester City, however, rejected rumours of a swap involving 27-year-old striker Carlos Tevez for the £35m frontman. (Liverpool Echo)

Anfield manager Kenny Dalglish has also hit out at City for “leaking” reports that Liverpool had enquired about a swap deal - and called on clubs to keep their transfer business private. (Various)

Borussia Dortmund striker Lucas Barrios, 27, looks set to move to Fulham in a deal believed to be worth around £8.35m, according to media reports in Germany.(Der Spiegel)

West Bromwich Albion have made a new bid for 27-year-old Birmingham City defender Liam Ridgewell to see off interest from Stoke. (Mirror)

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy will decide over the next 24 hours whether to sign 28-year-old free agent Mark Fotheringham. (Birmingham Mail)

Martin Olsson’s identical twin, Marcus, has emerged as a surprise Blackburn transfer target. The 23-year-old Sweden international, an attacking left winger, is a free agent having left Halmstads late last year. (Lancashire Telegraph)

Ipswich target Keith Andrews, 31, has reportedly handed in a transfer request at Blackburn. The Republic of Ireland international midfielder spent the first half of the season on loan at Portman Road, scoring nine goals and captaining the side for a spell. (East Anglian Daily Times)

Manchester United’s 18-year-old midfielder Ravel Morrison is reportedly joining West Ham after being told he is not getting another contract at Old Trafford. (Guardian)

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler, 36, was bought for £337,000 by the Kolkata franchise coached by Peter Reid in an Indian football auction similar to the Indian Premier League cricket auction. Former Chelsea forward Hernan Crespo was the top-priced player at £530,000. (The Sun)
