Here’s how fans reacted to the move on social media:
On Twitter, @RokerReport said: “Smart move by Reece James. HE took up the option to extend - insurance in case nothing better came along. Has been told he'll be second choice and can't blame him for moving on and wanting first team footy.”
@KennaSAFC added: “Good, very poor player who's no better than hume and not a patch on oveido!”
@SunderLAD posted: “A step in the wrong direction.”
@Lew_SAFC commented: “Be interesting, especially if Oviedo goes to Brugge. Happy for Hume to develop as our starting LB, would need a backup for sure”
