UNFINISHED BUSINESS ... former Sunderland striker Djibril Cisse.

QPR bolstered their forward line by luring Djibril Cisse back to the Barclays Premier League this afternoon - and he may be joined at Loftus Road by Bobby Zamora before the January transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.

The London outfit have confirmed the signing of Cisse, the former Liverpool and Sunderland striker, from Lazio on a two-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 30-year-old Frenchman - who is eligible to make his debut at Aston Villa on Wednesday, subject to international clearance being received one hour before kick-off - told his new club’s website: “QPR have a hugely ambitious project.

“When I talked to the manager (Mark Hughes), he spoke highly of the club and where he wants to take it over the next few years. He wanted to sign me at Manchester City and now I am finally here with him at QPR.

“He wants to achieve big things here - that was all I needed to hear from him.”

Cisse added: “I have unfinished business here in England. The English league is the best in the world. It is the league that suits me the most.”
