Watford ace opens door for Newcastle after turning down Wigan

DECISION TIME ... Adrian Mariappa.

DECISION TIME ... Adrian Mariappa.

WATFORD’S Adrian Mariappa has turned down a potential move to Wigan, according to reports.

The Latics had a bid, said to be £2.5m, for the 25-year-old centre back accepted earlier today, but Mariappa has rejected a move to relegation candidates Wigan.

This could potentially lead to a move to Newcastle United after Alan Pardew said in today’s press conference that a final offer had been made for the rising star.
