AS Roma have reportedly “made contact” with the Saudis who are behind the proposed Newcastle United takeover, according to a report.

The reported move comes as the Premier League considers the £300million deal, which is 80% funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

Roma president James Pallotta is looking for a buyer for the Serie A club.

And the Daily Star claim that “discreet enquiries” have been made to the Saudis.

The proposed United takeover faces opposition from Qatar-based beIN Sports and Amnesty International.
