Enrique's eyeing a Spain call with United

JOSE Enrique is confident his Premier League return with Newcastle United can catapult him into the Spain squad.

Enrique, capped at Under-21 level by his country, is relishing being back in the top flight after a season out of the spotlight in the Championship.

And the 24-year-old, pictured, is hoping to catch the eye of national coach Vicente Del Bosque, whose side open their European Championship qualification campaign away to Liechtenstein tonight.

"For me it's the best league in the world, and to play here is really, really important for me – I'm really happy to be back in the Premier League," Enrique told the Gazette.

"I know if I play in the Premier League, I have more chance to go with the national team. It's really important for me.

"To play for Spain now is a privilege – it's the best team in the world. They won the last World Cup.

"But I always say the same - the most important thing for me is to stay with this team in the Premier League.

"I'm really happy, because this team has to play in the Premier League."
