Arsenal ace Arshavin linked with Russia return

ARSENAL midfielder Andrei Arshavin has opened talks with Russian club Anzi Makhachkala over a possible return to his homeland.

The Russia captain has fallen out of favour at the Emirates and Anzi have swooped to offer him a way out of Arsenal.

The Russian transfer window remains open until the end of February meaning that this is not a transfer that would need to be finalised immediately.

However, the Russian side will want to tie up a deal for the midfielder as soon as possible to add to their attacking options.

They are also reportedly monitoring the situation at Manchester City with Carlos Tevez who they may offer a way out of the Etihad.
