What the weather has in store in South Shields in run up to May Day bank holiday weekend

After a warm and sunny weekend when some parts of the country hit temperatures of 20C, the borough will begin the week mild but turn cooler with a strong chance of some rain.
Following a mild week last week, the temperature is set to drop by several degrees to just 8C or 9C from Tuesday, April 27 continuing into the start of the Bank Holiday weekend.

Monday, April 26
The week will being cloudy but mild (11C-13C) turning to light rain in the afternoon and a strong possibility of heavy rain later in the evening around 10pm.
Tuesday, April 27
Cloudy turning to light rain by lunchtime. It will feel cooler at just 7C or 8C for most of the day.
Wednesday, April 28
Cloudy turning to sunny intervals by early evening but only around 8C for most of the day.
Thursday, April 29
