Shields Ferry suspended due to tidal surge
The Shields Ferry was suspended this evening due to a 'tidal surge'.
A replacement bus service was in action from 5pm.
A statement from the service said: "Ferry services are suspended due to the tidal surge.
"Replacement buses running half hourly from each landing from 5pm.
"Sorry for any inconvenience caused."
