Fans’ view of new Geordie Shore series
Sex toy ... Geordie Shore's Sophie Kasaei.
GEORDIE Shore swept back onto the nation’s TV screens last night, with the cast sticking to the tried and tested formula which caused controversy the first time around.
The MTV show, which follows nine 20-somethings as they party in Newcastle, kicked off with the first of eight weekly episodes last night.
And in true Geordie Shore fashion, the 40-minute show featured binge drinking, promiscuity, and plenty of arguments.
The group – which includes South Shields girl Sophie Kasaei, pictured right – welcomed newcomers Ricci Guarnaccio and Rebecca Walker, both of whom caused a stir with the original cast members.
The girls didn’t take kindly to Rebecca, resulting in a drink-fuelled bust-up between the new girl and Vicky Pattison.

Vicky also swooned for newcomer Ricci, finding herself in bed with him by the second night – despite her having a boyfriend.
Sophie, 22, from Tyne Dock, South Shields, also has a boyfriend and appears to have taken extreme measures to ensure she stays faithful – telling viewers she was taking a sex toy into the house with her.
Before leaving home, she was filmed chatting with her parents, who made her promise not to have sex during the six-week stay. Last year, the show was named as MTV’s highest rating show in eight years, and it’s popularity has since resulted in the release of a spoof perfume, L’eau De Geordie, the world’s first ever kebab-scented perfume.
During and after the show, viewers took to social networking sites Facebook and Twitter to log both enjoyment and disgust.
Verity Cope posted: “I have to admit it, my guilty secret. Although I think reality TV a load of trash, I just love Geordie Shore. I can’t help it.”
Emma Hull said: “I’ve been waiting all week for Geordie Shore ... worth the wait? I think so.”
Amy Muir said: “Not even ashamed to admit I love Geordie Shore.
“Hate people that take it too seriously, saying it’s an unfair representation of Newcastle. Lighten up.”
But not everyone was as taken with the show.
Many took to the internet to express anger at Gary Beadle, who once again slept with Charlotte Crosby, only to bring a different girl back to the house the night after.
Judgement has also been swift on new girl Rebecca.
Ben Higgins said: “Rebecca from Geordie Shore thinking she’s classy.
“She’s about as classy as chewing gum on a shoe.”
Linzi Potts said: “Vicky makes me angry. She couldn’t even go two nights before cheating on her boyfriend.”
The show didn’t appear to attract as much negative attention as last year, with many expressing disdain and choosing not to tune in.
But the show became such a popular talking point on Twitter last night that it became a worldwide trending topic.
Geordie Shore is on again next Tuesday at 10pm.
