Duke to open £10.5m BT centre
Duke of Gloucester
THE new BT business centre on South Shields riverside is to receive a royal seal of approval this week.
His Royal Highness, The Duke of Gloucester, will officially declare the £10.5m Harton Quay Business Centre open for business on Wednesday.
Also at the ceremony will be South Tyneside Council leader, Coun Iain Malcolm, the deputy mayor of South Tyneside, Coun Eileen Leask and BT’s chief executive, Ian Livingston.
Paralympic sprinter Jonnie Peacock will also attend the event to present three local schoolchildren with prizes for their winning entries in an art competition run by South Tyneside Council and BT.
The winning entries will take pride of place in the entrance of the new building.
Staff began to move into the centre late last year, and 600 employees are now based there.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 02:22 PMNo doubt BT will be hoping to "roll-out" similar "partnership" schemes throughout the UK. Any "commission" available for South Tyneside Council and or Sovereign Strategy?
