Doctor Who exhibition is packing them in

SCI-FI fans have helped break records at a Tyneside attraction.

Record crowds have been flocking to the Centre for Life, in Newcastle, since a Doctor Who exhibition opened on May 22, and on Tuesday visitor numbers hit a record high of more than 3,000 in one day.

Some disappointed families even had to be turned away during peak times.

People came from as far afield as Guildford and Peterborough, and many Scandinavians visiting the region saw the exhibition too.

Doctor Who fanatic, the Rev Kevin Watson, from Wrenthorpe, near Wakefield in West Yorkshire, said: "Believe me – I've seen all the Doctor Who exhibitions there are, and this one is by far the best and it's so up to date. It's fantastic!"

The Doctor Who exhibition, which is at Life until October

31, features props, costumes and creatures from the hit BBC One television series, including the Cybermen, Sontaran, the Weeping Angels and, of course, the Daleks.
