Charity night will help fund Disney dream

A CHARITY night to help a disabled South Tyneside boy achieve his Disney Dream will be held this week.

Christopher Cameron, nine, who copes with blindness, autism and a bone condition, is due to travel to Walt Disney World in Florida this month after a Gazette-backed appeal.

An event to fund the trip will be held at High Lane Social Club, High Lane Row, Hebburn, at 7pm on Friday.

The evening will include a live band and an auction of gifts donated by pop stars Joe McElderry and Cheryl Cole, as well as boxing legend Sir Henry Cooper, among other VIP supporters.

Linda Cameron, Christopher's grandmother, who is co-ordinating the appeal, said: "There are some tickets left for Friday's event, and we would love to see a full house."

Tickets for the event cost 5. Call Mrs Cameron on 0790 670 2978 to book a ticket.

The appeal has also received the support of The Longship pub, in Ushaw Road, Hebburn, and Fellgate Fitness Centre, Jarrow, plus many other borough groups and individuals.
