5. Misty (Crossbreed, eight years)
Misty is an eight-year-old Jack Russell cross. He is a fun and friendly boy looking for an adult only home. Once he has a bond with you, he will sit on your knee for a little fuss. He enjoys his walks but can be worried by other dogs if they get too close, so needs to be walked in quieter areas and to be the only dog in the home. Misty needs a home with a secure and private garden. He is not used to being left so will need his owners around all the time initially until he is settled in. Misty is housetrained. Do you love bubbly little Terriers? Then meet Dexter! He’s an eight-year-old Terrier Crossbreed who is lots of fun and a real joy to be around! He thrives on a fixed routine so he’ll need to be the only pet in a peaceful adult only home so he can properly settle. He does have anxiety and is taking medication for this which our Vet will discuss in more detail. Although he’ll need someone around all the time initially to settle into his new home, once he’s confident he should be ok on his own for a few hours. Photo: Dogs Trust Leeds
Sonny is a lovely young lad who is on the lookout for a family to love. He is such an affectionate boy who really enjoys a fuss and will never turn down a snuggle. Sonny loves his food, at times a little too much and can at times lack manners when food is available so his family may need to help him with some impulse control. He could possibly live with another dog pending a successful meet but would just as happily be the only dog in the home soaking up all the attention to himself. Sonny can live with children who are aged 11 and over. Photo: Dogs Trust Darlington
Panda is looking for an adult household where she can settle in at her own pace. She does take her time at making friends so adopters will need to make a few visits to the centre to build up a relationship with her. Her family will need to be around most of the day and any time alone can be gradually introduced once she is settled. A home with a garden would be ideal for Panda where she can have a safe area to explore whilst she builds up her confidence. Panda is still working on her doggy social skills so will need to be the only dog in the home for now. Photo: Dogs Trust Darlington
