Two arrested for stealing electricity
TWO men were arrested after police raided homes in South Tyneside yesterday.
Officers used search warrants to swoop on addresses in South Shields, where they believed the occupiers were bypassing electricity meters.
Derek Cattanach, 41, of Richmond Road, was charged with abstracting electricity.
He will appear at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
In the second raid, a 41-year-old from Stanhope Road was arrested on suspicion of the same crime, but was bailed while police investigate further.
