South Shields man denies communications charge
Lewis Jenkins has denied the lone charge of sending, by a public communications network, a message that was grossly offensive or of indecent, obscene or menacing character on Friday, January 24, contrary to section 127 of the Communications Act 2003.
The 21-year-old, of Carrol Walk, South Shields, spoke only to confirm his name, age and address before entering a plea of not guilty.

Hide AdJenkins, who wore a shirt and tie with a dark navy jacket, will now appear at the court for a trial on Friday, September 4.
During the short hearing on Monday, July 13, Jenkins was represented by defence solicitor David Forrester.
Jenkins was told he must appear at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on September 4 or the case could be heard in his absence.
