Second man charged over £10,000 cigarette robbery
A SECOND man has been remanded in custody after £10,000 of cigarettes was taken in a raid on a Tesco delivery truck, outside the Tesco store in Prince Edward Road, South Shields, on Tuesday.
Heltz Ames, 24, of Vine Street, South Shields, appeared before South Tyneside magistrates yesterday, charged with robbery.
Ames did not enter a plea, and the case was adjourned until February 16.
On Thursday, Daniel Lake, 20, of Landseer Gardens, Whiteleas, South Shields, was remanded in custody by the same court in connection with the robbery.
Two other men are on bail.
Two other men, aged 23 and 29, who were also arrested, remain on bail pending further inquiries.
