Man suffers head injuries in Shields disturbance

TWO men have been arrested in connection with a disturbance at a house in South Tyneside in which a man suffered head injuries.

Just before 5pm yesterday, police received a report of an incident in Eglesfield Road, South Shields.

Officers attended and found a 36-year-old with cuts to his head and hands.

Two men, aged 24 and 30, were arrested in connection with the incident.

The younger man has been bailed pending further inquiries, while the other remains in custody.

At this stage it’s believed all three men involved are known to each other.
