Collision with car leaves pedestrian with head injuries after crash on busy South Shields road

The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) and Northumbria Police were called to Galsworthy Road in Whiteleas, South Shields, at 3.30pm today, Friday, October 16, following reports of a crash.
Police officers cordoned off the street as investigations were carried out into the circumstances of the incident, with a collision investigation unit part of the response sent to the scene, near to the junction of Geoffrey Street.

Hide AdA spokesperson for NEAS said: “We got a call at 3.30pm to a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a car.
"We dispatched a paramedic ambulance and a Hazardous Area Response Team and we took one patient to the Royal Victoria Infirmary with head injuries.”
