A SOUTH Tyneside mum is making a big impression in the beauty business.
Carly Musleh, who has worked as a make-up artist for numerous VIP clients, is attracting increasing global attention with her beauty blog and related websites.
The 28-year-old, of South Shields, recently launched her blog, BeautySauce.com, which has been a massive online hit with tens of thousands of fashion fans logging on for the latest beauty tips, news and views.
And now the qualified beauty therapist, who studied at South Tyneside College, is hoping to raise her media profile as an online make-up artist.
Her work has already been featured in leading style magazines, including Cosmopolitan, and her blog has followers throughout the world, particularly in the US.
Married to footballer, Richard Offiong, who played for the Newcastle United youth side and won an England under-20 cap, Carly juggles her beauty business with raising the couple’s three-year-old son, Andre.
She said: “My blog is gaining interest daily, with many companies asking to collaborate or send products to review.
“It is less than five months old, but gets more than 700,000 hits per month, and my YouTube channel has almost 3,250,000 video views.
“My YouTube channel was noticed by the people at Unilever, which resulted in me being the ambassador for the new Creme Brulee lip flavour for Vaseline.
“I was asked to conduct interviews in Manchester and London Selfridges, and created exclusive videos for their channel.”
Carly’s make-up tips for women are often inspired by beauties such as Angelina Jolie and Cheryl Cole, and movie-legend Marilyn Monroe.
She has worked as a make-up artist for a range of pop and TV personalities, including indie band Suede.
She added: “I was also chief make-up artist at Romero Bryan’s fashion show, who has designs worn by the Mariah Carey, Brandy, Michelle Obama and Ms Dynamite.
“Although I haven’t got an agent, or anyone to find me work, I have been contacted through my channels.
“So, to stand out over all the thousands of blogs and channels is an accomplishment in itself, without any publicity or commercial agent.
“With the added support from the the Gazette, hopefully, I can get more recognition and gain more opportunities as a make-up artist and beauty journalist, and one day have my own make-up courses and products.”
