Andros Townsend's medical at Crystal Palace ahead of £13m move

Townsend only signed for the Magpies in January, joining from Tottenham Hotspur in a £12million deal.

the 25-year-old ultimately missed out on a Euro 16 squad place, but Newcastle hoped he would stay at the club and help their promotion bid.
However, it appears Townsend has decided he wants to stay in the top flight, with Palace boss Alan Pardew - who was keen on the winger when he was Newcastle manager - persuading him to move to Selhurst Park.
The deal could be completed later tonight, with striker Dwight Gayle moving in the opposite direction as he completes the formalities of his switch from Palace to Tyneside.
