Here is a reminder of when the people of South Tyneside watched the tall ships sail out of the Tyne in 2005.
It was a spectacular sight and lots of you came out to witness it.
The ships may be making a return to the region if Hartlepool is successful in its bid to host the races in 2023.
In the meantime, let’s relive the day you said goodbye to these giants of the sea.
