Pavement ads littering our streets
TO encourage youngsters to take up apprenticeships, someone, somewhere, came up with the idea of littering the pavements in South Shields with advertising approved by the North East Chamber of Commerce and South Tyneside Council.
Well, pardon me for breathing, but litter is what the brightly-coloured ads look like, nothing more, nothing less!
It will just add to the usual collection of discarded chip papers, cigarette packets, crisp bags, drink cans and broken glass strewn about by holidaymakers and townspeople alike.
What an example to set our children.
