Let's make the most of our river
REFERRING to the plans for regeneration of the riverside (Gazette, August 25), I really applaud the developments making use of our river.
The river is a wonderful asset to our town.
I would love to see the whole river lit up all the way from South Shields to the Tyne Bridge – and a couple of large boats with dining tables on deck and, say, a Dixieland jazz band playing on a summer night.
I would also like to see places for people to sit by the river all the way along its banks.
We could have our own mini-Manhattan. Wouldn't it be lovely? It would certainly bring in the tourists and money.
